Section 160.263 provides that each school district's local board of
education shall adopt a written policy that comprehensively addresses
the use of restrictive behavioral interventions as a form of
discipline or behavior management technique.

In response to the statute the Missouri Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education is developing a model policy on restraint and
seclusion in schools. Recently the DESE held a meeting in which
selected representatives of agencies, organizations and divisions of
the DESE were given the opportunity to give input on the elements
needed in the model policy.
MPACT would like to provide parents an opportunity to do the same.

Position Summaries.
Any comments, concerns or views that you have may be sent to

MPACT will summarize your input and submit it to the DESE. Thank you for your
participation.
